Let's take an example of Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge Exam (AFK). The AFK tests biomedical science and applied clinical science knowledge. This exam serves a double purpose; It is an admission requirement for Canadian Degree Completion Programs and one of the examinations in the Equivalency Process for Internationally Trained Dentists.

The AFK consists of 200 single answer multiple-choice questions, delivered in two parts. A participant has two hours to complete each part.
